Someone who we have only really got to know and understand more about recently is British industrialist Dale Vince.
Think Britain’s equivalent to Elon Musk but with morals, Dale has predicted successfully which way industries should be heading before others, and capitalised on these insights by setting up related businesses that have arguably kickstarted whole new industrial sectors.
After building his first wind turbine in 1996, he then went on to expand on this and found Ecotricity, the first company in the UK providing 100% genuine renewable electricity. ?
Next, he dabbled in creating the first high-performance electric sports car using a Lotus chassis, effectively beating Tesla, who were working on the same idea.
Foreseeing a chicken and egg situation with electric cars not being attractive due to a lack of a national charging infrastructure, he founded the Electric Highway in 2011, which became the most used charging system in the country thanks to his foresight of locating its chargers at key motorway and A-road sites…
A very impressive individual who took his green credentials where no one had gone before, taking over a local football club and converting its operations and its team to be the first 100% renewably powered and all vegan football team…!
He has many strings to his bow, founding sky diamonds, which extracts carbon from the air and converting it into diamonds, and also working on building Ecopark to house his football team’s new stadium as well as an industrial park for like-minded green businesses (image below).
